Edco Umbrial 45mm Review

Bikes Etc’s Aero Umbrial (45mm) Review

Very recently, the lucky riders at Bikes Etc Magazine have had their hands of a trio of top end superbikes, all builds costing in excess of £8,000.

By far the most expensive build on test was Storck’s carbon fibre Fascenario F.3 Platinum, with the total 55cm build weighing in at just 6.79 kilos.

The build supplied to Bikes Etc was also fitted with the Edco Umbrial (45mm) wheelset, which comes from our superb Aero range.

Best Aero Wheels

In their January 2018 issue, the magazine commented:

“The Fascenario is unashamedly aimed at racers and on the road it certainly feels like that. It is incredibly responsive, with sprints and big climbs not giving a hint of lateral flex. This is helped by the fantastic Edco Umbrial wheels. They have what many would consider an old-fashioned design, with a V-shaped 45mm profile (rather than the more current U-shape trend). But on the road the wheels feel as fast as anything at the same depth and are impressive at shaking off stiff sidewinds, which can often be a weakness for many deep-section carbon wheels. In the wet the braking performance is reasonable, giving predictable power even if it’s not the most powerful.”

For optimum braking performance, the Umbrial (45mm) wheelset can be combined with the specially formulated Cesso Red brake pads, also produced by Edco.

Thanks to our unique MultiSys hub, they are also compatible with both Shimano/SRAM and Campagnolo – so no more changing wheels when you change your groupset!
